In- Camera Composites

These images have not been assembled in Photoshop.
Shot on fils and in sequence, the negative space between frames is incorporated so that an entire strip of images is printed as whole. Intended to bend reality by abstraction and recombination, they are composed in-camera without digital or darkroom manipulation.

The result is not entirely seamless, yet suggests a single image. This recombination of incongruent pieces gives visual appeal while being physically disconcerting. Their differing camera orientations, respective subject matter, and shadows blending with the negatives spacing help impart familiarity, but raise questions upon scrutiny. Mostly, they a just cool to look at.

A note on production

Camera original film has been scanned, then optimized for color, density, dust or scratches in Photoshop, with no other information added or removed. The files were then exposed on Fuji Crystal Archive Super Type C color print photo paper with Chromira RGB printer and processed through Fuji RA-4 chemistry. These prints are continuous tone color process photographs.

I hope you enjoy them.
